Here is how we produce our quality ingredients.

1. Breeding

Breeding is the part of the reproduction cycle where the flies are placed in a natural and comfortable habitat to lay eggs. The eggs are automatically transferred to a hatching room, allowing the young larvae to hatch in optimal conditions.

2. Rearing

Our patented and fully-automated rearing method places the larvae in ideal growing conditions. Fed with upcycled organic side-streams the larvae are an example for a cost-effective, yet sustainable protein source.

3. Processing

Once the larvae have reached maturity, they are processed into high-value Illucens Proteins and Illucens Lipids. The residues are turned into great soil enhancers.
